I had spent years, I mean years, trying to find something that I could do to make money at home. I was desperate to stay at home with my children, the way I was raised. Unfortunately, before the Internet, it was nearly impossible, unless you wanted to sell Amway or be an Avon lady. Once the Internet exploded, there were so many opportunities, I didn't know which one to try first. Fast forward 5 years, and I was still looking for something to do at home to make money but now I had a lot less cash in the bank. I sank money into several MLMs, a dental and prescription discount program, and several other false promising opportunities.

Many people want to leave the corporate rat race. They don't really know what they want to do once they leave, but they know they want out of the nine-to-five job. Their desperation is stronger than their ambition. Unfortunately, that drives them to spend a lot of money going through a multitude of business opportunities. It's difficult to find something that is one, legitimate and two, something where everyone can achieve success, not just the top two percent.

So my question to you is, how much money would you spend to work from home? I've asked this question to many, and what I found is it depends on your entrepreneurial spirit? How much drive and ambition do you have to be your own boss?

My kids grew up and there I was, still searching for a way to make money from home. I was stuck in a job that I had begun to hate because it was so stressful. It wasn't until I sold a few items around my house on eBay that I thought I might actually be able to make really good money with eBay. I had only purchased one item on eBay years before, and it wasn't a very good experience. I had never given it a thought to sell on eBay.

I quickly went through every room in my house to see what else I could find to sell. You would be amazed at how much money you have just laying around your house. I used a tool provided by eBay to find the top-selling items in your home. Everything from small appliances, electronics, collectibles, toys, and sports equipment, to clothing, shoes, and housewares can make you money on eBay. The list is endless.

Once I ran out of things to sell in my house, I turned to the Internet, to research and learn how to sell on eBay. There are thousands of resources that provide tips on what to sell and how to sell it. I spent hours at a time reading blogs, watching YouTube videos, and joining Facebook groups to absorb as much knowledge as I could. If I wasn't listing items to sell on eBay, I was reading about how to make money on eBay.

I became a regular shopper at Goodwill and The Salvation Army to find items to sell on eBay. It was easy to find gently used shoes and clothing for five dollars and sell them for twenty dollars or more. I could score toys for one to three dollars and resell them for fifteen to twenty dollars. Although my favorite source to find inventory quickly became yard sales. The profits on those items were much higher. I seldom pay more than a dollar for yard sale finds.

I kept researching, buying, and selling. My instincts about what would sell improved and here I am, three years later, and I am a Top Rated Power Seller. I am making really good money without having to work for anyone else. I still see hundreds of work-at-home ads a week for everything under the sun. It's natural for us to want to give them a try. Why not, if it works for them, why can't it work for me? I was right there with you until I discovered the eBay opportunity. Ironically, I had spent a lot of money chasing a way to be free of the nine-to-five, and all I really needed to spend was a few bucks per sale to make a nice living from home.

My suggestion to you is stop trying to find the next greatest startup and take a chance on something tried and true. Don't invest a lot of money to be a part of a downline, only to make someone else a lot of money.
